I love the Doors and I love driving through Laurel Canyon, so it's fitting the worlds would collide when I took a few photos outside the Laurel Canyon Country store and found out Jim Morrison's home is an actual stone's throw away from this store he describes on "Love Street." I feel I never understood the Doors until I spent time driving around Los Angeles - the music fits into the atmosphere and time cruises by listening to their albums in the car. My current obsession I've been playing is: The Wasp - Texas Radio and the Big Beat.
The Country store is equally magical and a living relic of the Summer of Love, plus they have killer snacks I frequently pick up driving through the canyon. And there's always an element of mystery that you never know what creatures you could meet in this store...
Outfit-wise I wore this not planning to take photos at this store, but clearly was drawn to this place when wearing it. I love bell sleeves and had to snatch this sweater when I saw it to take advantage of the trend. It can go with many looks though it as a tad more midriff than I would have liked so needs an undershirt to be work appropriate. The skirt and shoes have become the foundation for most of my weekend outfits, and the scarf really spoke to me with the pretty flower details and the orange punch of color. It's definitely hippie inspired... but modern enough to wear anywhere.
Meet me on Love Street xoxo
